MONGREL (DOG/GOD) is a solo vocal and theatrical performance in which Alwynne Pritchard investigates the roles of madman, shaman, alchemist, vocalist, diva and dog. The result is a series of works that are tragic, grotesque, demanding and absurd. To date, she has commissioned more than twenty-five composers internationally to contribute to the project, which she has presented in Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, the UK and the USA. For her performance at L'Association James Joyce at Saint-Gérand-le-Puy, Alwynne is giving seven world premieres in a program of created specially for MONGREL, as well as for this location, in which she explores language within the context of stream of consciousness narratives and avant-garde aesthetics.
