All Dressed Up And Nowhere To Go is a one hour performance by Alwynne Pritchard and Susanne Zapf. Composed and improvised by the two performers, the program also includes additional solo works by Helmut Oehring (LostDOG), Ruth Wiesenfeld (AGAIJ) and Christopher Dell (10 Exercises for Non-Representational Playing). The performance can be presented in a gallery space or concert hall.
Exploring how language specific to movement practice can lead to a composition consisting of music (live voice, violins and electronics), text, physical and costume performance, All Dressed Up And Nowhere To Go challenges both performers to inhabit many roles and personalities.
Originally taking its lead from the language and practices of Gaga, Butoh and clowning, the project evolved into a piece that is equal parts dance performance, wrestling match, satirical fashion show, radio play and concert.
All Dressed Up And Nowhere To Go is a performance that has grown out of many years’ collaboration between Alwynne and Susanne. It was premiered at HilbertRaum, Berlin, in 2024.
